拥有学士学位的人失业率是只有高中文凭的近一半.调查显示，虽然获得大学学位是降低失业可能性的有效途径，但并非所有本科专业都能提供同样稳定的工作保障。
根据美国人口普查局2019年的数据，在所有拥有学士学位的受访者中，2019年的失业率为2.6%。
失业率最低的25个专业中，当时的失业率都低于1.7%，甚至为零。
但值得注意的是，自2019年以来，美国就业市场发生了显著变化。这主要是受疫情影响，失业率从大萧条以来的几十年低点飙升到短短几个月的高位。
